Comprehensive dental care

Everything you need for a healthy, confident smile

Fourteen treatments across preventive, cosmetic, restorative, and surgical care — all provided here, by doctors who know your history.

  • Cleanings & Exams

Routine cleanings, exams, and digital x-rays that catch problems early — when they are smaller, simpler, and less expensive to treat.

  • Teeth Whitening

Professional whitening that lifts stain and discoloration, supervised by your dentist and completed on your own schedule at home.

  • Porcelain Veneers

Thin porcelain facings bonded to the front of the teeth to change their color, shape, and alignment — the most controlled way to reshape a smile.

  • Dental Crowns

Strong, natural-looking caps placed over prepared teeth to prevent fracture or restore the shape and function of a damaged tooth.

  • Dental Implants

Man-made roots that support a crown, bridge, or denture — the closest replacement to a natural tooth, placed and restored in one practice.

  • Wisdom Teeth Removal

Third molar removal by a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, with sedation available, in the practice you already know.

“This office is exceptional! Dr. Dirk DeKoch is very honest in explaining all options available.”

Our team

The doctors you will actually see

Three DeKoch family dentists and a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon — so surgical and restorative treatment is planned together, not handed off across town.

Family dentistry

Care that grows with your family

We value education and preventive care, so we spend time equipping you and your family with knowledge that can eliminate or minimize tooth decay and other future problems.

We begin seeing children around six to twelve months, when the first primary teeth come in. Routine checkups aid in early diagnosis, which can help limit extensive treatment later.

New patients

Questions we hear most

Everything else is on the new patient page — or call us and we will talk it through.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please arrive 15 minutes early and bring your medical and surgical history along with contact details for your physician, a list of your current medications and any known allergies, your dental insurance information, and any recent x-rays your previous dentist has provided.

Do you accept new patients?

Yes. Alamo Heights Dental is currently welcoming new patients of all ages. Call (210) 824-3243 or send us a message and we will find a time that works for you.

Does my child need a parent with them?

Yes. A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years of age.

When should my child first see a dentist?

We generally begin seeing children between six and twelve months of age, when the first primary teeth come in. Early visits are short and positive by design — the goal is for your child to be comfortable here long before they ever need treatment.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am until 5:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am until 12:00pm. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Ready to love your smile?

We are accepting new patients and would love to welcome you to the Alamo Heights Dental family.
