Susie R. DeKoch, DDS
General, Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry
Dr. Susie DeKoch came to dentistry from biomedical engineering and orthopedic surgical sales, and was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award by her clinical faculty at UT Health San Antonio.
Dr. Susie R. DeKoch earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia. While there she worked with the Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital and collaborated on an innovative total hip replacement design.
She went on to work in orthopedic surgical sales with Smith & Nephew before pursuing dentistry, and received her DDS from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in 2016, where she was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award by the clinical faculty.
That engineering background shows up in how she approaches restorative work — teeth carry load, and how a restoration is designed determines how long it survives.
